Venice is still one of the most interesting and lovely places in the world. The city's official airport, Venice Marco Polo is a fairly new airport, sitting on the mainland right alongside the waters of the Venetian lagoon. There are a range of options for travel and it can take between twenty minutes and an hour to get to Venice, depending on the mode of transport you use: taxi, boat or shuttle bus. Many travellers will be content to admire the views, to cruise along the Grand Canal, and to stumble upon hundreds of picturesque angles. If, on the other hand, you like visiting museums, churches and galleries, there are enough here. Staying in Venice can be an expensive business but the service offered in return is outstanding through hotels like San Clemente Palace and Hotel Ai Mori D'Oriente.
