Scarborough, Tobago is the largest town in Tobago, one of the two main islands of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago. The town is dominated by Fort King George, and 18th century fortification which now is a historic/archaeological museum. The Botanical Garden in Scarborough comprises ten acres of tropical trees and shrubs which are clearly labelled and create some amazing views. The best time of year to visit the island is during the winter where the temperature gets pretty hot as in the summer it reaches very high due to its proximity to the equator. There are only about 17,000 people who live in Scarborough, but because of tourism and other business that takes place in the town, it can often be well above that. Scarborough has roots that go back with French, British, and Spanish ancestors. The people in Scarborough like a slow-paced, laid back life, and they try to show the visitors a good time when they are in town.
